Amity International School Amsterdam is a new international school in the Amsterdam region, it is our mission to offer excellent education to prepare students for the ever-changing world around them. We opened our doors for students in February 2018. Being only 15 minutes away from Schiphol, the school is located in Amstelveen and is surrounded by green spaces. Located in a unique monumental building surrounded by parks and with our focus on the well-being of every student, Amity International School Amsterdam is one of a kind.

SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS

We embrace and embody the understanding that meeting the needs of a diverse group of learners starts with a high-quality core curriculum and teaching practices. The Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) programme builds on this high-quality curriculum and teaching by providing a range of supports that are tailored to meet the individual needs of students in reading, writing, maths, social-emotional development, and functional skills. Amity International School Amsterdam also facilitates in-school access to speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, school psychologists, and other local specialists.

Before acceptance to our school, a case-by-case assessment is conducted by our SEND Teacher to evaluate whether Amity International School Amsterdam can provide the right support.

Amity International School Amsterdam is een nieuwe internationale school in de regio Amsterdam, het is onze missie om uitstekend onderwijs te bieden om studenten voor te bereiden op de steeds veranderende wereld om hen heen. In februari 2018 hebben we onze deuren geopend voor studenten. Op slechts 15 minuten van Schiphol ligt de school in Amstelveen en is omgeven door groen. Gevestigd in een uniek monumentaal pand omgeven door parken en met onze focus op het welzijn van elke student, is Amity International School Amsterdam uniek in zijn soort.

SPECIALE ONDERWIJSBEHOEFTEN

We omarmen en belichamen het begrip dat het voldoen aan de behoeften van een diverse groep leerlingen begint met een hoogwaardig basiscurriculum en lespraktijken. Het Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) -programma bouwt voort op dit hoogwaardige curriculum en lesgeven door een reeks ondersteuning te bieden die is afgestemd op de individuele behoeften van studenten op het gebied van lezen, schrijven, rekenen, sociaal-emotionele ontwikkeling en functionele vaardigheden. Amity International School Amsterdam faciliteert ook de toegang op school tot logopedisten, ergotherapeuten, schoolpsychologen en andere lokale specialisten.

Voordat we worden toegelaten tot onze school, wordt er een geval per geval beoordeeld door onze SEND-docent om te beoordelen of Amity International School Amsterdam de juiste ondersteuning kan bieden.
